In the woods it is below zero. Michi tries little heating pads in the toe tips of his boots, I choose winter embrocation all over my feet. Great ride, thanks to some cooling mudholes my feet are only medium rare now.

Yesterday evening telephone call with Ulf, short blah-blah and plan for today is fixed: we will check the ice on the Sylvenstein-Reservoir, same tour as last year end of December. In summer it’s a nice rolling into the first rows of the alps, now it’s a question of wooly socks. Early start is mandatory. Roads are icey and it’s frickin cold, but so much winter-beauty on the road.
